What We Do

Our Mission

Blackbird Forest Animal Sanctuary provides refuge, rehabilitation, and lifelong sanctuary to animals whose needs cannot be adequately met through traditional rescue and rehoming. We prioritize exotic and farmed animals displaced by neglect, abandonment, exploitation, the animal trade, or circumstances that leave them without an appropriate home. When safe and responsible adoption is possible, we work to place animals in carefully screened, permanent homes; when it is not, we provide sanctuary for the remainder of their lives. Through education, advocacy, and responsible animal stewardship, we seek to prevent suffering by helping people better understand the needs and lifelong commitments of the animals in their care and promote greater compassion toward all animals.
